SNOLAB Tour

April 18, 2011

I’ve been working with SNOLAB experiments for nearly 4 years now and Dave hasn’t been able to go for a tour in all this time. We once were all set to go on a friends & family tour. We woke up at 4:00am, drove to the lab, changed into mine gear, signed in, and walked over with the group to find out the cage was down. 😦

It seems that every other time there is a oppurtunity for him to join a tour he’s out-of-town on business. Now that Dave is leaving for Indonesia for an unknown amount of time I called in a favour and arranged for him to go on a tour with the first year university physics students. Pretending he was 19 again Dave got to travel 2 km underground to check out where I spend my time. Although he is no stranger to a mining environment I hope that it was an interesting experience to check out a clean room deep underground.
